Penny Carlson

SVP, Development Operations

Penny Carlson has more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry and is currently Senior Vice President, Head of Development Operations at Kymera, which includes Program Leadership, Clinical Operations, Trial Optimization and Clinical Outsourcing. Throughout her career, Penny has held various roles of increasing responsibility overseeing the planning and execution of clinical trials across regions and therapeutic areas. Prior to joining Kymera, Penny was an executive leader in the Global Development Organization at Takeda, leading transformative initiatives and focusing on clinical trial delivery, external partnerships, and innovative ways of delivering medicines to patients. She was responsible for multiple assets in the early development space and was the Clinical Operations Lead for the Gastroenterology Therapeutic Area. Earlier in her career, she held leadership positions at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Aileron Therapeutics, and worked for a small Contract Research Organization supporting NIH sponsored Vaccine and Infectious Disease studies. She received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Allegheny College.
